WellPoint Earnings Down 25% for First Quarter

WellPoint reported a first-quarter net income of $588.1 million, down from $783.1 million in the same quarter last year. WellPoint CEO Angela Braly said the health plan's enrollment remains strong. WellPoint is the parent company of Anthem Blue Cross, formerly known as Blue Cross of California.
