Chronic Disease Care

Assembly member Fiona Ma (D-San Francisco) introduced legislation (AB 158) that would declare support for establishing an outreach program targeted at minorities at high risk of hepatitis and diabetes. The Department of Public Health would administer the program (Bill Text, 1/18).

A bill (ACR 13) proposed by Assembly member Cathleen Galgiani (D-Stockton) would encourage the Department of Public Health to implement a pilot program to manage Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease using public and private funding. The measure seeks to reduce Medi-Cal costs from the disease (Bill Text, 1/22).
