CDC Report: Asthma Rates Rising Among U.S. Population
The number of U.S. residents with asthma was about 24.6 million in 2009, up from 20.3 million in 2001, according to a new CDC report. The report found that asthma prevalence in the U.S. increased from 7.3% of the population in 2001 to 8.2% in 2009. It also showed that increases occurred among all demographic groups studied.
